I have grown tired of being interrogated on guesswork. If you have anything stronger to go on than a refusal to believe one of the other four could be a murderer, then I will listen to and refute it. Otherwise, you are just wasting my time.

I’m not interested in wasting time interrogating you either. There are four murderers, but some of them have been honest with me. I’m just... advising you that you’d probably rather be in that second group.

You propose a plea bargain, then? The murderer who does not confess is the one who is executed, while the rest go free?

Something like that. Picking someone arbitrarily would be easier, but... I want to know the truth of what happened.

...I killed Illyasviel von Einzbern. It was not personally motivated. She merely had the misfortune of being the first person I encountered that night. I could not allow the threat made against me to be carried out. It would have endangered the entire universe.

I presume you have already spoken with Mae and Minako. I do not know who they killed, but I know that Seto Kaiba killed Hiyori Tomoe. I doubt he will confess to you. He wishes for us to band together and cast our votes for Ein to protect ourselves.

[ He respects it a lot more than he respects Seto fucking Kaiba, in fact. ]

...I see. Akechi-kun suspected there would be some sort of plan like that going on...

It is a reasonable thought. Discounting Will Graham, there are four of us and four of you, and we have all already proven ourselves willing to sacrifice innocents. If we are united while you are not, it would be simple to swing the vote however we like. That said, Kaiba wished for the insurance of a fifth vote, and so if you speak to him, he will likely attempt to convince you of Ein's guilt.
