Nope's Peak Day 17 Post-Voting - Akira

[ It's a few hours after everything settles down that Shuichi tracks down Akira, but he's not going to not talk to him again before tomorrow. ]
purrtagonist: (crabs are too kinky for me)

I didn't either.

[there wasn't enough time. but even when Shuichi announced his vote for Seto, he stayed silent, and honestly? that's one of his bigest regrets]
purrtagonist: so I went ‘fuck that’ and made a dwarf pirate (The rulebook says dwarves dislike boats)

It's discovering the truth. Isn't it?

[he says a bit wryly]

. . . but I suppose that's not why I'm a detective.

[not that he wants to have the responsibility of choosing who deserves to die, either. but. . . ah, you know. he's all about that personal sense of justice]

[which is probably why he's as calm as he is, despite his regrets about not pushing for a vote for Will. because in the end? he's still guilty]
purrtagonist: (Go forth and bring me this hippo)

[personal profile] purrtagonist 2018-01-23 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
Nobody is "good" at those sorts of decisions.

. . . it's just, sometimes? People know that if they don't make them, no one else will.
purrtagonist: (All this betrayal is making me nervous)

[personal profile] purrtagonist 2018-01-23 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
[heh. . .]

I am, if anything, decisive with my decision-making. Wherever. . . it may take me.

[leader of the Phantom Thieves for a reason]
purrtagonist: our six horrible children (Away from the murder snowballs)

[personal profile] purrtagonist 2018-01-23 02:55 am (UTC)(link)
[makes a sort of. noncommittal noise]

That is true.

[although the truth doesn't quite stop the guilt. especially when he'll find himself face-to-face with Erika again]

You're not so bad at giving advice, Shuichi.
purrtagonist: if I’m attacking with my face (What do I roll)

[personal profile] purrtagonist 2018-01-23 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Keep on improving. I know you said before that you felt like you were.
purrtagonist: (Will inhaling harm me?)

[personal profile] purrtagonist 2018-01-23 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
[drops a hand on his head, and ruffles his hair]

Anytime.

[even when on the brink of death, apparently]
purrtagonist: (So can I nonlethally decapitate him)

[personal profile] purrtagonist 2018-01-23 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
[Shuichi is cute and Akira will never tell Akechi about this conversation]

Old habits are hard to break. Supporting people was my job back home.
purrtagonist: (Can I seduce the flying snakes)

[personal profile] purrtagonist 2018-01-23 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
[. . . aw, what the heck. he's dying tomorrow, right? there's no reason to keep any secrets]

I was the leader of a group of thieves back home. The Phantom Thieves of Hearts. That's what the public knew us as.
purrtagonist: (it's mephistopheles you filthy casual!)

[personal profile] purrtagonist 2018-01-23 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Because that's what we stole.

The hearts-- the distorted desires-- of the corrupt and powerful.
purrtagonist: (Does my Swamp specialty apply?)

[personal profile] purrtagonist 2018-01-23 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[. . . a slow nod]

That's right. Those with particularly distorted desires had things called "Palaces," which were maintained by a "Treasure," which was the very core of someone's warped cognition. Steal the Treasure, and the Palace falls. When the Palace falls, the distorted desires disappear, and the wicked individual is so overcome with guilt they confess their crimes to the public.
purrtagonist: (Well my map is now a pig)

[welcome to Persona, Shuichi]

Exactly.

It was actually through our work as Phantom Thieves that Akechi and I crossed paths.

purrtagonist: (I should probably roll for Georgia)

[personal profile] purrtagonist 2018-01-23 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[. . . WELL THAT IS A LIE. . .]

Ah. . . well, he was the lead detective consultant on our case. . .

[partially a lie???]
